About Border War MILSIM

Border War is one of Europe’s original large-scale airsoft MILSIMs, played in the former military area of Ralsko in the north of the Czech Republic. The organisers build a LARP city with many buildings and bring historical vehicles and helicopters into a fictional storyline with no political agenda.

Players travel from across the EU, Switzerland, Norway, the US and further afield. Border War 5 (2013) was reported as the first airsoft event with more than 2,000 players (2,300 according to the organisers), and the event has won the Popular Airsoft Players’ Choice Award for best event over 500 players eleven times in a row. Only biodegradable BBs are allowed, and the crew spends around 500 hours cleaning the area afterwards.

Highlights

  • 50 hours of continuous day and night play
  • 11× Players’ Choice ‘Best Airsoft Event over 500 players’
  • Not recommended for skirmish-only players – MILSIM beginners welcome

Getting there from Bulgaria

Ralsko, Liberec Region is about 1,090 km from Sofia as the crow flies. Most Bulgarian teams drive in convoy or fly to a nearby airport and rent a van for the gear. Always check the organiser’s rules on replica transport, FPS/joule limits and tickets on the official channels before you book.
