My airsoft loadout: HPA MTW build & full kit

This is the exact kit I play with and film in – a Wolverine MTW Inferno running on HPA, Pyramex eyewear with an anti-fog fan, a FAST helmet, UF PRO combat shirt and a Yakeda chest rig, plus the cameras I record every game with.

Why I run HPA

An HPA (high-pressure air) replica is fed from a tank through a regulator instead of a battery-driven gearbox. That gives very consistent shots, a crisp trigger and easy FPS tuning – at the cost of carrying a tank and needing a way to refill it, which is why the compressor and tank regulator are on this list too. If you are just starting out, an AEG is simpler – see the budget loadout.

Replica & HPA system

Wolverine MTW Inferno Billet Gen3 (10")

My primary and my first HPA rifle. Tight, solid build straight out of the box – I run it at 1.15 J with 0.30 g BBs. Budget for a 7.4 V battery (it goes in the stock tube and is not included) and a shorter muzzle device.

Redline Mini SFR HPA Regulator

Takes the 800 psi coming off the tank down to the low working pressure the MTW engine needs, and lets me dial power up or down with a hex key. Compact enough to stay out of the way on the bottle.

Armotech 0.5 L 4500 PSI HPA Tank

Half-litre carbon-fibre bottle filled to 300 bar. Carbon is much lighter than steel, and one fill gives over 2,000 shots – a full game day for my style of play.

DYE HP Tank Regulator (4500 PSI)

The first pressure stage: drops 300 bar in the bottle to a safe 800 psi output and carries the fill port, burst disc and gauge. Mine was installed and pressure-tested by OPFOR Armory – worth having a shop do this part.

EPeS MK IV Braided HPA Line (80 cm)

Reinforced braided line between regulator and rifle. Consistent airflow, no kinks, and it survives being dragged through bushes. 80 cm leaves enough slack to route it from a tank pouch.

Eye, face & head protection

Pyramex V2G-Plus Goggles (GB6420SDT)

My eye protection: sealed goggles with an anti-fog lens that accept a prescription insert – a must for me because I wear glasses. With the fan kit pushing air inside, they stay clear all game.

Goggle Anti-Fog Fan Kit

The best ~$20 I have spent on gear. Magnetic hoses blow air into the goggles; on one charge it ran four hours and still showed green, and turbo mode clears fog in seconds. Other players say it is completely silent.

NB Tactical Fortis LP Mask

Coated steel mesh, only 48 g, rated to 500 fps, with a memory-foam nose bridge that moulds to your face after a couple of games. Worn over the edge of my glasses, it feels like it is not there.

NB Tactical Balaclava V3

Breathable multicam-tropic balaclava made specifically for airsoft. One elastic size – it fits nicely under my size S/M helmet and pairs perfectly with the Fortis mask.

Emerson Gear FAST SF Ultra High Cut Helmet

The foundation of my head setup: ~800 g ABS shell, ultra-high cut so the EARMOR headset fits underneath, side rails, NVG shroud for a camera and a dial at the back for a quick, tight fit.

FAST Helmet Cover

Cloth cover that matches the helmet to the rest of my camo, kills shine from the shell and adds loop panels for patches.

Clothing & load bearing

UF PRO Striker XT Gen.3 Combat Shirt

The premium piece of my kit. A breathable combat shirt that stays comfortable under a chest rig on hot days, with built-in elbow protection for going prone or around corners.

UF PRO P-40 All-Terrain Gen.3 Tactical Pants (Brown Grey)

All-rounder pants built as a system: PolyCo ripstop with stretch panels where you bend, CORDURA-reinforced knees with pockets for the 3D knee pads, a 3D lower-back pad for a sturdier fit and boot hooks so the legs never ride up when crawling.

UF PRO 3D Tactical Knee Pads (Cushion)

Strap-free pads that slide into the knee pockets of the P-40 – nothing to adjust, nothing slipping down mid-game. I picked the Cushion version: soft memory foam for long periods kneeling behind cover (the Impact version suits hard drops). Only fits UF PRO pants with knee-pad pockets.

UF PRO Hunter FZ Gen.2 Softshell Jacket (Brown Grey)

Light, packable softshell for cold mornings and night games: windproof, water-repellent outer, fast-drying 37.5® lining and breathable mesh side panels so you don’t overheat on the move. Comfortable from about 5 to 25 °C. UF PRO is replacing Gen.2 with a new generation, so remaining sizes are limited.

Camo Tactical Gloves

Hands and fingers are where BB hits hurt most. These are thin enough to keep trigger feel and do fast magazine changes, and cheap enough to replace when they wear out.

LOWA Zephyr MK2 GTX Mid

Light Gore-Tex mid boots: waterproof, comfortable from day one and supportive on uneven ground like quarries and forest slopes.

UF PRO Waist/Flex Belt (Brown Grey)

Under-belt that locks the P-40 pants in place so they don’t slide when you carry weight. Magnetic Fidlock buckle, removable stiffeners to tune support, and a hook-and-loop face that doubles as the inner belt for a battle-belt setup – while leaving the lower back free to breathe.

Yakeda YKD-2313 Tactical Belt

3-in-1 belt with PALS webbing for a pistol holster and dump pouch – it carries weight on the hips instead of the shoulders.

Yakeda YKD-088 Chest Rig

Light crossbody chest rig for magazines and radio. Much cooler than a plate carrier in summer while keeping everything I need in reach.

Add-ons & accessories

Vector Optics Maverick 1x22 SOP Red Dot (SCRD-39)

Budget red dot that holds zero well. I run it on a tall riser so it lines up with the magnifier and sits above the scope cam.

Read my review

Vector Optics Maverick-III 3x22 Magnifier (SCMF-32)

Flip-to-side 3x magnifier behind the red dot for spotting players at distance – flip it away for CQB.

Read my review

Unity-Style FAST Riser Mounts (Red Dot + Magnifier)

Finally a riser that is high enough: about 40 mm tall, so I get a heads-up position with helmet, mask and goggles on. The matched set keeps the red dot and magnifier perfectly aligned. Two solid pieces of metal at a budget price.

Baofeng UV-S9 Plus Radio

Affordable dual-band radio for team comms. Plugs into the EARMOR headset via a PTT, so callouts come through clearly even with ear protection on.

Baofeng 2-Pin Headset Microphone

Simple earpiece and push-to-talk for the Baofeng – the budget way to get hands-free comms if you do not have an active headset yet.

Airsoft Cleaning Kit

Cleaning rod and brushes for the inner barrel. A clean barrel and bucking mean consistent hop-up and accuracy – part of my routine after muddy games.

Flashlight Mount for 20 mm Rail

Offset mount that puts the weapon light on a 20 mm Picatinny rail where my thumb can reach the switch.

Tourniquet (First Aid)

Not a costume piece – real first aid. Many fields are remote and accidents happen away from the game too; it weighs nothing to carry.

BB Speed Loader (Crank)

Crank-style loader for refilling magazines fast in the safe zone between rounds, without spilling BBs.

Pyramex RX Prescription Insert

Prescription frame that clips inside the V2G goggles. This is how I play with corrected vision without wearing glasses under sealed goggles.

WADSN SF M300 Weapon Light

Replica M300 light (133 g on my rifle) for bunkers and dark CQB rooms – fields like BoinoPole have dim interiors where a light is essential.

Camera & field tech

RunCam Scope Cam 2 4K

My go-to scope camera: aluminium IP64 body, built-in 20 mm rail mount, 4K30 or 2.7K60 (I recommend 2.7K60). Best value for quality I found, and the camera most of my gameplay is filmed with.

DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro

Upgrade pick for helmet POV: stronger low-light performance and stabilisation than the Action 4, and the same quick-release mounts.

DJI Osmo Action 4

My rifle "selfie" camera, facing back at me (about 117 g with the mount). The magnetic quick release makes it a one-click install, and a dive-case cover protects the screen from BBs.

SanDisk Extreme PRO microSD Card

Fast enough for smooth 1080p60 and 4K recording for hours. I use 128 GB in my scope cam – format it to FAT32 for the RunCam.
